Last Day of Pre-School!

Today was the last day of preschool for Isaac. YAY! Here he is before we left the house.

Above is Isaac (& most of the class) saying the Pledge of Allegiance. Below they are counting by tens - with motions!

Below is the Phonics Alphabet - "y" for yarn.

How many planets are there? "NINE!" they shouted. Below is Isaac with his friend Noah.

The park we were at had the most fabulous playscape! Here he is on the climbing wall.

He learned so much this year in preschool: God, the alphabet, planets, inventors, presidents, sign language, plants & animals ....

Is the Man in Brown here yet??

My sister and brother-in-law brought their Dance Praise (DDR-type of thing) with them when they came to town for my grandmother's 90th birthday party a few weekends ago and I got to play! Can I just tell you - it's SO MUCH FUN! We had some unexpected money drop into our lives so guess what we bought?? It's coming via the Man in Brown next week! Can't wait!! Is it here yet?? How 'bout now? No, not yet? Guess I'll have to wait a bit longer. *sigh..........

What Sleep Number are you?

Last weekend I was in Grand Rapids working at a stamping Expo - so much fun! Met lots of people, taught classes, learned new things from other vendors (sshhhh!) and got to know my friends better, lol! The hotel we stayed at had Sleep Number beds - oh, so interesting with 4 gals in a room, 2 Sleep Number beds (only 1 number allowed per bed!) and we quickly found out we all had different numbers.

Friends!

We have been so busy we haven't invited anyone over for dinner in a long time! I think Erin and her boyfriend Fiddle might be the first couple we've invited over this year! It's already May, I know. Anyhow, last night, they were over for a simple dinner - homemade pizza, salad, and 'smores (or 'less, if you are allergic to chocolate, according to Fiddle). The pizzas were awesome, if I do say so myself! Brian and I made 4 types -- buffalo chicken, pepperoni & mushroom, pepperoni & olive, and pepperoni & pineapple. We ended up not having 'smores or 'less, but rather fresh, juicy canteloupe.

Here is a pic of Erin & Fiddle, after an awesome dinner and a fun game of Balderdash...

Buffalo Chicken Pizza Recipe, if you're interested...

Ingredients:
Pizza Dough
1/2 - 1 cup Blue Cheese dressing
3 med. chicken breasts, cooked and diced
1/4 - 1/2 cup hot sauce
Mozzarella cheese - enough to cover your pizza to your liking

Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 400*. Lightly oil a 9x13 pan.
  2. Spread dough into pan, covering evenly. Spread dressing onto dough. Set aside
  3. Combine diced chicken with hot sauce, however much or little you like!
  4. Spread chicken mixture onto dressing-covered dough.
  5. Sprinkle Mozzarella cheese over chicken.
  6. Bake 25 - 30 minutes, until crust is done and cheese is bubbly. Enjoy!!

Ethan's missing teeth!

Well, in the life of a Kindergartener, losing teeth is a big deal. All of the kids in school are talking about how many teeth they've lost and how many teeth are loose. I imagine that the teachers are fairly amused or disgusted by it, not to mention the fact that they see their students wiggling loose teeth with their tongue, pencil, or fingers. Eewwww!!! It's a wonder with all of the loose teeth and using their fingers to wiggle their teeth that they're not sick more often! Blessedly, Ethan hasn't been sick too often this past year.

Below is a picture of Ethan with 2 missing teeth. :-)

Roush Racing Day

As I was heading out to pick up Ethan up from school on Wednesday, I received a phone call from my dear hubby asking if I wanted to bring the boys out to Roush after picking up Ethan from school as they were having an "Open House" type of event. "Oh, sure... Summer's almost here! There are only 22 more days of school left!" I said.

There were a couple of the race cars on display, a race car simulator, the car museum was open, and other things any NASCAR fanatic would enjoy. (We are not fanatics... we enjoy the fact that others enjoy it and his employment through this company provides housing, sustenance, transportation, etc. for our family) :-)

Below is Brian in the race car simulator, racing away, while Ethan watches....

Below, I am getting into the simulator...
